I preach Sony products for many years always buying nothing but a Sony. Those who know me would think I was raised in a Sony warehouse.
But after having my Sony 4k flagship tv for just a little less than two months, my TV screen has died.
What you have to remember is wherever you purchase your product from, the warranty is with Sony and not the stores. All they'll do us give you the number for Sony. So be prepared to be on hold for 10 minutes and speak to people in Egypt and not the UK.
I spoke to someone in Egypt and there's definitely a communication barrier which proved to be the case when they got both my email and mobile phone number wrong. They was meant to send me the link to do a reset as in hope there will be no need to send an engineer round but when the panel dies factory resets don't work. Later found they taken down my email incorrectly when I never received one from them and spoke to someone else the following day.
First I contacted back Sony so called customer service only to find it even more difficult to understand stand each other which by then I gave up on that.
Asked the store I purchased the product from for a contact number within the UK and although he tried his best unfortunately this one number to Egypt is the only customer service Sony provide for tv's.
So I phoned Sony UK head office which immediately was put on hold to the Egypt number. I rang back and explained I want to speak to someone in the UK. I was put through to someone who wasn't customer service but did his best to help he had my details at hand and confirmed they were all wrong. At this point I have received an email and he is arranging for an engineer to visit. I'll ask the engineer's if there's a better way of booking an engineer.
All I can say is you can purchase products that may be best TV awards or whatever but you won't go wrong purchasing a LG, Samsung, Panasonic etc as those will still give you an excellent product also. Best buying products judged by who provides the best customer service as you'll need that much more than you'll need the best picture
